TESDA 8 Conducts Free Competency Assessment & Certification Week
All systems go for the scheduled week-long competency assessment and certification on March 28 to April 1, 2011 which will be conducted free of chrage by TESDA nationwide.
This national TVET Competency Assessment in all the TESDA schools and training centers all over the country that will include key qualifications which are difficult to find but with high industry demand.
TESDA Director General Joel Villanueva emphasized that one of the primary objectives of this synchronized assessment and certification is to increase the number of certified Filipino workers and graduates of tech-voc education and training (TVET) so they can be qualified for good jobs.If the trainees and workers are able to handle all the required competencies, they will be certified and given a National Certificate (NC) or Certificate of Competency (COC) which they can use for applying for jobs in fields that are highly demand. “Likewise, we want to expand tha scale and popularity of the assessment program an advocacy to raise people’s awareness about it,” Sec. Villanueva added.
Those who wish to apply may secure the assessment application form from the TESDA Regional Office or from any of our Provincial Offices and TESDA Technology Institutions hereunder listed. The form may also downloaded from our website @www.tesda.gov.ph or www.tesda8.org. Deadline for submission of application is on March 18.
All interested applicants must submit the following requirements:
1. accomplished application form
2. self-assessment guide
3. 3pcs. of passport sized pictures (with their name written at the back)
For Region VIII, the assessment is available to skilled workers, TVET graduates and graduating students/trainees of registered programs in the following courses:
